E-mail Print PDF
Former speaker of Armenian Parliament Tigran Torosyan said that Russia and United States press Turkey on protocols.

Holding a press conference in Yerevan, former speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Tigran Torosyan claimed that Turkey is under the pressure of United States and Russia. Torosyan said that the attitudes of Russia and United States against Turkey’s policy of setting resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem as a precondition for Turkey-Armenia normalization, show that Moscow and Washingtonare against participation of Turkey in the resolution process of Karabakh conflict.

Claiming that opening of borders will be more harmful for Armenia than being beneficial, Torosyan said that Armenia gave enough compromises by recognition of Turkey’s territorial integrity and approving establishment of a committee of historians. Torosyan said, “And we did not have any progress in the international recognition of Armenian genocide. Almost all countries in the world believe that recognizing genocide would harm the normalization process between Turkey and Armenia.”
