Head of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) Richard Giragosian stated that the issue of discussion of so called Armenian genocide in the U.S. House of Representatives is related to Turkish-American relations.
Holding a press conference on February 24, Head of Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) Richard Giragosian commented on so called Armenian genocide resolution that is scheduled to be discussed by the Foreign Affairs Committee of U.S. House of Representatives on March 4. Stressing that the reason for the genocide resolution to be on the agenda is related to Turkish-American relations, Giragosian said, “And probability for the passage of the resolution is again related to Turkey.”
Stating that Turkey’s recognition of so called genocide is what matters, Giragosianclaimed that Turkey’s policy toward protocols contribute the issue of recognition of so called Armenian genocide. “The debate in the Washington related to genocide resolution is not about genocide but about Turkish-American relations,” said he.
