The discussion of the so-called “Armenian genocide” in the US Congress does not meet the interests of this country, said Samed Seyidov, chief of the parliamentary commission on interparliamentary ties.
He said Turkey is the main ally of the United States in the region.
“If the resolution on the issue of the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’ is adopted, this will affect the US-Turkey-Azerbaijan relations.
As is known, this document has been raised under the pressure of the Armenian lobby. However, the importance of relations between the United States and Turkey is quite clear to the Congressmen. Therefore, I believe the US Congress will not pass the resolution,” the New Azerbaijan Party quotes Samed Seyidov as saying.
