"The Europeans’ fears that 70-milling-strong Turkey can Islamize 500-million-strong EU are unfounded".
At his meeting with students of the International Relations Department, University of Vilnius, Lithuania, Turkish Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis told them about the Turkey-EU relations.
Bagis pointed out that Turkey’s way to the EU is not easy, but it is not only the country’s desire, but also “a foreign strategy aim.” According to him, the Europeans’ fears that 70-milling-strong Turkey can Islamize 500-million-strong EU are unfounded.
The Minister also told the students that Turkey is acting as mediator in the Syrian-Israeli, Syrian-Iraqi, Israeli-Lebanese, Russian-Georgian and Armenian-Azerbaijani conflicts.
