US should demonstrate independent position

E-mail Print PDF
Such a superpower as the United States cannot ignore the serious problems of the world just for the interests of a group of Armenia.

Every Azerbaijan must voice his protest over the discussion of the resolution on the so-called “Armenian genocide” by the US Congress on March 4, said Bahar Muradova, deputy chairman of Milli Medjlis and member of the political board of the New Azerbaijan ruling party.

She said Armenians used this fact while conducting Khojaly events abroad.

“As the events in Khojaly are the reality, the wish to fight against the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’ is growing. The position of Milli Medjlis on this issue is clear. We condemn the discussion of this issue.

Such a superpower as the United States cannot ignore the serious problems of the world just for the interests of a group of Armenia. This does not raise its prestige. It also has a negative impact on the US democratic image and its role in the democratic development in the world.

The adoption of the resolution will also have a negative impact on relations US with Azerbaijan. As a country mediating the Karabakh conflict settlement, the United States should demonstrate an independent position. It is wrong to take steps based on the opinion of the head of the Armenian electorate. At the same time, I think Obama’s administration will take a decisive position in such issues,” she said in her interview to the website of the New Azerbaijan Party.
