Over 800 letters sent to honor victims of the massacre.

On February 26, 2010, a group of Azeri- and Turkish-Americans in New York organized a protest action in remembrance of the 18th anniversary of Khojaly Massacre. Traditionally held in front of the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan, this year’s action was coordinated by ASA, AAC and the Young Turks Association of New York. Amidst bad weather conditions and heavy snowfall in New York, action participants chanted slogans calling for justice to the victims of Khojaly Massacre and for forcing Armenia to fulfill the 1993 UN Security Council resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh and to end its occupation of Azerbaijani territories. Protesters also informed the passer-bys about the crime against humanity committed by Armenian forces during the occupation of Khojaly.

Earlier, as part of their 2010 Khojaly commemoration week AAC, ASA and the Assembly of Turkish-American Associations (ATAA) also organized a discussion panel at the University of California Berkeley and a conference at George Washington University. Additionally, AAC organized a letter campaign via Change.org, generating over 270 signatories and 800 letters sent out by community to the members of U.S. Congress and President Obama to honor the victims of Khojaly Massacre.
