According to the report of Hurriyet Daily, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev criticized Russia and France overassisting Armenia during theoccupationof Karabakh.
Aliyev said, “Armenians occupied Nagorno-Karabakh with the assistance of foreign countries. This unjust status quo cannot continue. It is high time for it tochange.”
Making a visit to Gabala region where Azerbaijani refugees live, Azerbaijani President stated that foreign countries had assisted Armenians during the occupation of Karabakh. Aliyev said, “Armenians occupied Karabakh region with the assistance of foreign countries. As we did not before, we are not going to accept the status quo in the region today either. We will show that Azerbaijani nation has the power to change this status quo. We are ready to fight for our land if it is necessary.” Azerbaijan stresses that Armenians were assisted by Russia and France during the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh. On the other hand, Russia and France are co-chairs in the OSCE Minsk Group which mediates between Azerbaijan and Armeniatowards resettlement of the conflict.
