Erdogan warns US and Armenia

E-mail Print PDF
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned United States and Armenia over the so called Armenian genocide resolution which is scheduled to be voted on Thursday in theU.S. House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee.

Erdogan stated that negative steps that might be made on March 4 will undermine the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. When a journalist asked Erdogan about the resolution in U.S. Congress related to 1915 incidents in Ottoman Empire, Erdogan said, “We discussedthis issue during my visit to US. A group of MP’s also hold contacts in Washington. The process is being continued and our stance is clear. There is a process we have initiated in Swtizerland. It continues. I believe we will achieve results if mutual good understanding is preserved. Negative steps that might be made on March 4 or April 24 will undermine this process. It would not be a right move. I believe members of U.S. Congress will take that into consideration.”
