US President opposes “Armenian genocide” draft resolution

Barack Obama administration urged the US Congress to hold off the “Armenian genocide” draft resolution.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton phoned to Chairman of US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Howard Berman and told him that the draft resolution could venture the protocols signed between Turkey and Armenia, APA quotes CNN Turk.

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs holds a meeting in Washington on Thursday. Turkish parliamentarians are also attending the meeting.

On March 3, US President Barack Obama called his Turkish counterpart Abdulla Gul and urged him to accelerate the ratification of protocols signed between Turkey and Armenia, APA reports quoting CNN Turk.
