Nalbandian believes that the assertion that Armenia will benefit from the process in all conditions is true and actual today.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian believes that in case of frustration of the Armenian-Turkish process by Ankara the world trust for Turkey will decrease.
"We have acted openly and sincerely, without ulterior motive, and both mediators and the countries assisting the process have witnessed this. We said what we had done, and did what we had said," said Nalbandian in an interview with Armenian Public Television .
According to him, the party which acts sincerely always wins.
"If Turkey has any ulterior motive, other interpretations and approaches, I would not want to comment on the implications for Turkey, which may be in the event of the frustration of this process on her part. The trust of the world community to Turkey will fall at minimum, not to mention other consequences ", added the Foreign Minister of Armenia.
Nalbandian believes that the assertion that Armenia will benefit from the process in all conditions is true and actual today.
He recalled that the initiator of this process was the Armenian side, which enlisted the support of the international community.
"This is a very important fact. For any country, advocating a diplomatic initiative, it is very important to have support from the international community. The whole world supported us in this process, our actions are understood by all, and it is rather an important fact," said Nalbandian.
"I would like to repeat that we are striving to continue the process and succeed in it, but if Turkey is going to fail the process, if the development is different, Armenia, in the worst case will return to the situation prior to 6 September 2008 (the day of the visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Armenia), thus enhancing its credibility in the international arena”, the foreign ,inister said.
He noted that Armenia expects a positive response from Ankara the issue of normalization of bilateral relations.
