’Turkey should withdraw its signatures on the protocols signed with Armenia’.
Nationalist Movement Party Chairman Devlet Bahcheli reacted against the bill in a statement saying that Turkey should withdraw its signatures on the protocols signed with Armenia and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan should postpone his US visit he has to make in April.
Bahcheli said it is obvious that the totally baseless and foul spoken claims have been used to create an atmosphere of settling accounts with the past of the Turkish Nation.
She said it is especially frustrating that Turkey is condemned by those countries that themselves should be blamed for termination and genocide of people.
“The United States conduct the imperialistic policy in the region but I do not think that by such actions they will be able to gain respect. The United States will not attain something by losing Turkey and Azerbaijan. On the contrary, a colossal damage will be caused to their interests in the region.
It seems that by such actions they are trying to force Ankara to ratify the protocols but they are deeply mistaken. Turkey has been been afraid of anyone. And if they consider that Turkey can be spoken with in a language of ultimatums, I would advise the US representatives to take the deep study of the history of our country. Turkey is a country that creates history, not bowing to anyone,” the deputy said.
She also noted that after yesterday’s decision of the Congress, these protocols are a piece of paper and hardly any Turk will approve them after it. “The United States have thus caused the damage to normalization of relations with Armenia and now Turkey does not bear any responsibility for their failure. Let’s see what Americans will gain by spoiling Armenia,” she said.
