"Genocide" resolution not to be introduced General Assembly

It is reported that H.Res. 252 which is adopted in the Foreign Affairs Committee of U.S. House of Representatives will not be brought on the agenda of General Assembly.

According to the report of Reuters, an American official stated that so called Armenian genocide resolution will not be brought on the agenda of General Assembly of U.S. House of Representatives. Official said, “Obama administration and officials in the Congress agree that resolution will not go further. We believe that H.Res.252 will stay where it is now.”

The resolution that is adopted in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House is introduced to the General Assembly with the signature of 137 Congressmen. According to the American constitutional law the only person that is authorized with bringing the resolution on the agenda is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. In 2007, Nancy Pelosi had dropped a similar resolution from the agenda following the pressure of White House. The Reuters news agencyreported that White House and the Congress have agreed that resolution should not be brought on the agenda of General Assembly. American official that spoke to Reuters stated that the resolution will stay where it is now.
