Swedish Parliament's Decision Pleases Armenia

E-mail Print PDF
Yerevan is pleased of adoption of so called Armenian genocide resolution in Swedish Parliament.

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan said, “Recognition of genocide and massacres commited against humanity is not important only for Armenians, but also whole humanity.”

Swedish Parliament has adopted a resolution that recognizes Armenian allegations related to 1915 incidents in Ottoman Empire.

Armenian economist Arthur Aghazhanyan said, “Americans admit their faults related to period of slavery. Germans recognized Jewish genocide. The same way, Turkish government should accept these.”

As a reaction to the decision, Turkey recalled her ambassador to Stockholm Zergun Koruturk.

Turkey also had recalled her ambassador to Washington Namik Tan, following recognition of so called Armenian genocide in the Foreign Affairs Committee of U.S. House of Representatives.
