State Minister Faruk Celik stated that parliamentary decisions related to Armenian allegations are meaningless and said, “If we go back to the history of those countries who pass resolutions on so called Armenian genocide, we have more words to tell.
Commenting on adoption of a so called Armenian genocide resolution in Swedish Parliament, State Minister Faruk Celik said, “This resolution was passed as a result of the efforts that were made to terminate the peace in the region.”
Celik said, “The aim of so called lovers of Armenia who do not consider economical situation of Armenians living in Armenia and who drags the region into poverty, is not contributing peace in the region. This resolution was passed as a result of the efforts that were made to terminate the peace in the region.”
Stressing that it is meaningful that Foreign Affairs Committee of U.S. House of Representatives passed the resolution with only one vote difference, Celik said, “It is obvious that diaspora is not that effective. On the other hand, when we look at the bigger picture, these decisions are meaningless. Because it is not up to politicians to make such decisions. If we should start making evaluations for the incidents that happened 100 years ago, we have much to tell. Our lands were not just 780,000 kilometers square. We had much more. If such policies should be followed, we want to ask; what happened to our lands, what happened to our people? Somebody should give an explanation to that. Could there be something more absurd than this.”
