"Armenian-Turkish normalization process and Nagorno-Karabakh settlement can’t help affecting each other."

It’s necessary to do all the possible not to make the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue a captive to the Armenian-Turkish normalization process so that the parties do not push forward unrealistic preconditions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrey Nesterenko said in an interview with Novosti Armenia.

Referring to the linking of the two issues, Nesterenko said: “We see that objectively the Armenian-Turkish normalization process and Nagorno-Karabakh settlement can’t help affecting each other. At the same time, we take into account our principal position: advancement of one process should not be linked with the other one. Otherwise, both processes will be facing a deadlock,” Nesterenko said.
