American Historian Professor Doctor Justin McCarty gave a lecture in Frankfurt over 1915 incidents.

Professor Doctor Justin McCarty, who is well known with his studies on Ottomans and Armenians, gave a lecture in Frankfurt over 1915 incidents. Speaking in the panel that was held in Mariott Hotel by Ren Main Turkish Community, McCarty said that Western approach to 1915 incidents is not objective as the West does not want to see the truth.

ARMENIANS BETRAYED OTTOMANS

Stressing that decision of Ottoman administration towards displacement of Armenians was a pragmatic policy, McCarty said, “It is understandable. Because Armenians started to be dangerous. They were threating the state and people.” Underscoring that Armenians were supplied with arms by foreign countries, McCarty said, “Arms were being transferred from Cyprus and Russia. Armed Armenians were killing people. Only in Van, 200 Armenian ammunition store was found. Ottoman administration knew about that. Armenians were massacring innocent people in villages by these arms.”

Stressing that incidents tookplace during World War I, McCarty said, “Armenians betrayed Ottomans during the war. They were not aiming to win. They did not initiate a war that they think they can win. Their only target was to make Ottomans lose the war. Because they initiated rebellions with the support of English and Russians. Armenians werecommiting massacres the most in Adana, Sivas and Van. Beware that these cities did not have Armenian population more than 5 percent. Is it possible to win the war there? It was obvious that they were not fighting to win but to make Ottomans lose the war. They were just like the militia forces of English and Russian armies in Eastern Anatolia.”

Stressing that the historical truth is that Armenians massacred Kurdish people in Eastern Anatolia, McCarty said, “Armenians and Russians massacred 2/3 of Muslim Kurdish citizens in Van. 70 percent of Kurdish people were massacred by Armenians.” Asking that where did Armenian rebels found the ammunition while Kurdish people did not have that, McCarty said, “How this can be possible? Where do you think Armenians got these arms?”
