Armenia Responds to Erdogan: Did we ask you to let them in?

E-mail Print PDF
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement related to illegal Armenian immigrants in Turkey is on the agenda of Armenian newspapers. As Armenian officials stated that the words of Erdogan reminded them deportation of Armenians in 1915, Armenian newspapers also reacted Erdogan's statements harshly.
Armenian Aravot newspaper wrote, "Did we request you to let them in? We did not make any request to Turks to let our citizens stay in Turkey illegally. Armenian citizens who have violated the law of immigration should have been deported. Yerevan administration should respond to this threat as, "Do whatever international laws require. Deport people who reside in Turkey illegally."
