Turks in Sweden rallied to protest adoption of Armenian resolution

About 3,000 Turkish people in Sweden held a protest demonstration against the decision of Swedish parliament that recognized 1915 incidents as "Armenian genocide."
Adoption of so called Armenian genocide resolution in the Swedish Parliament on March 11, caused reaction of all Turkic people in Sweden. Azerbaijani, Uyghur, Tatar and Turcomans supported the protest in which protesters carried banners like "Parliament is not a court" and "Do not politicize the history."
Stating that they were shocked with the "genocide" decision of Swedish parliament, protesters said, "The Sweden we know is always towards the peace. Our country used to mediate between conflicting countries. On the other hand, this decision is something that undermines the peace between Turkey and Armenia."
Speech makers that adressed to the protesters stressed that the decision of the parliament is a scandal. As a reaction to the role of social democratic party in the process of recognition of so called Armenian genocide, several organizations resigned from the membership of party.
