According to the report of Spanish ABC newspaper, Spanish government does utmost to prevent adoption of the resolution that recognizes so called Armenian genocide.
Newspaper wrote, "Government knows very well that recognition of genocide will cause the reaction of Turkey that is one of the allies of Spain in the NATO."
ABC claimed that Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos is in contact with the leader of Congress of Deputies, Jose Bono for prevention of the "genocide" resolution. It is reported that Catalonia has already recognized so called Armenian genocide and therefore Spanish government have concerns that Madrid may do so.
