Armenia In Preparation of War?

E-mail Print PDF
According to the report of Azadliq radio, Armenia called all Armenian men between 18-50 for attending one-week of army exercise for preparing the country against the possibility of a war.
Spokesman to Armenian Ministry of Defence Seyran Shahsuvaryan stated that all Armenian men between the ages 18 and 50 will be called to serve in the army for a week to be trained against the possibility of a war. Stressing that large scale military exercise should not be received as preparation for war, Shahsuvaryan said that all of Armenians should know their duty in the army from the begining in the case of a war.
Refuting the reports that violation of ceasefire in Azerbaijani-Armenian frontline very often increases possibility of a new war between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh, Shahsuvaryan said, "The situation in the frontline is like that. It would not be true to tell that there is some different situation in the frontline and that ceasefire is being violated more than before. Possibility of a new war between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Karabakh is very low."
Azerbaijani Defence Minister Sefer Abiyev had stated that possibility of a new war in Karabakh is high since Armenia rejects withdrawing from the lands of Azerbaijan. Issiuing a statement for the Nawruz holiday, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan will have to use force for solving the problem if results cannot be achieved through negotiations.
