General President of Liberal Democrat Party Cem Toker refuted the report of Russian RIA news agency which claimed that Turkish politician laid a wreath at so called Armenian genocide monument in Yerevan, Armenia.
Speaking to Hurriyet newspaper, Toker said, "I went to Armenia several times to support process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. I wanted to prove that two countries can establish relations without discussion of genocide issue. I shared the details of my visit with the President Abdullah Gul in October."
"I never accepted allegations of genocide during my visit. And I did not lay a wreath at the genocide monument. If the report was true, it would be published by Armenian media before the Russian news agency. It is interesting that fake report is made not by Armenian but a Russian news agency," said he.
