E-mail Print PDF
British House of Lords will debate incidents between 1915 and 1915 today at 17:30 with local time. The discussion of 1915 incidents was proposed by independent member of parliament, Baroness Carline Cox. UK Parliament's official web site announced that Baroness Cox will ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they will reconsider their position with regard to the recognition as genocide of the events in Armenia from 1915 to 1917.
British Government and Opposition Do Not Support The Resolution
Stating that English government and opposition are against the resolution and that only one parliamentarian supports the resolution, English Minister of Justice Jack Straw had stated that there is no probability for the resolution to be passed from English parliament. Underscoring that only one member of the House of Commons support the resolution, Straw said, “The chance of this becoming law is zero. I can assure everyone on this issue. Even If it is approved, an Armenian genocide Remembrance Day will not be established in the country. The English government and the opposition do not support this draft."
