Armenian authorities supported by Georgian powers continue discrimination of Georgian Azerbaijanis residing near the Armenian border.

The Armenian authorities supported by Georgian powers continue discrimination of Georgian Azerbaijanis residing near the Armenian border, according to the alternative report of a group of Georgian NGOs posted on the website of the Council of Europe in the section on Armenia.

The report “On execution by Armenia of the Framework Convention of Protection of National Minorities in relation to the frontier villages in the Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia”, was prepared by the Sadahlo Association of Revival, Sarvan public association, Garapapah charity organization, Garayazi public union.

The report contains numerous facts of discrimination of the residents of the Georgian settlements on the Armenian border with the predominantly Azerbaijani population by Armenians.

The monitoring group has stated numerous facts of such violence against Azerbaijanis including murders, beating and torturing on the Georgian-Armenian border by Armenians in the Georgian settlements as a rude violation of the Framework convention on protection of national minorities.

“Everything container herein and described in the reports of other human rights organizations, influential international organizations prove that Armenian authorities practice the system of direct ethnic discrimination of ethnic minorities in Beytarabchi, Tezekend, Burma, Sadakhlo, Mollaoghli, Khuldere, Irganchay and adjacent Georgian settlements which is accompanied by the idleness of the Georgian authorities. Numerous facts of violation of basic human rights show that the Armenian authorities are expelling the aboriginal population of this area, ethnic minorities who live on the Georgian-Armenian border from the Georgian side on purpose”, the document says.

The report has been submitted in OSCE, secretary of the CE framework convention on national minorities, Supreme Commissioner on national minorities of OSCE Knut Vollenbek.

The document will also be submitted to UN.
