'Historic issues should be discussed by Armenia and Turkey'

Turkey’s FM Ahmet Davutoglu hosted the US Congressmen chaired by the co-chair of parliamentary group on relations with Turkey Ed Whitfield. The Congressman declared at a news conference after the meeting that issues related to Armenian 'genocide', Turkey’s role in Afghan issue, mediation in Serbia and Bosnia&Hertsegovina and Turkish-American ties.

Cumhuriyet reported that the US Congressman signified the development of the dialogue between Yerevan and Ankara, and stated that historic issues should be discussed by Armenia and Turkey.

The Congressman expressed the US optimism regarding Turkey’s Ambassador’s return: “We hope our ties with Turkey will be continued.” Regarding Obama’s message of April 24, the official said they’re not so well informed but hope that a Turkey oriented message will be released.
