E-mail Print PDF
President of Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) stated that he does not expect U.S. President Barack Obama to use the term "genocide" during his speech on April 24 adressing to 1915 incidents. "Obama not to use the term genocide as he will avoid triggering a crisis with Turkey," said he.
President of Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) Lincoln McCurdy opposed to the opinion that U.S. President Barack Obama may use the term "genocide" in his 24 April speech and said, "I do not think that Obama will utter the term genocide." Clarifying his statements, McCurdy said, "Triggering a crisis with Turkey is one of the last things Obama would like to do. I do not think he will utter the term "genocide" due to political and economical reasons."
McCurdy thinks that Speaker of U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosy's decision related to so called Armenian genocide resolution will be towards Turkish interests. "Even if the resolution will be brought on the agenda of General Assembly, the probability of its passage is very low," said he.
