Holland Azerbaijan Turkish Culture Association initiated a petition against erection of a so called Armenian genocide monument in Hague.
Hague based organization's President Ilhan Askin and vice president Baycan Gunes informed Azerbaijani and Turkish media on the petition campaign in a press conference. Askin said, "Armenian organizations are planning to hold a large scale rally in Hague on April 20. There are also plans for erecting a so called Armenian genocide monument here. We can imagine the negative effect of erection of such monument on our people."
Stressing that they initiated the campaign against erection of "genocide" monument to tell their righteous point, Askin said, "We aim to defend our righteous position and inform the people of Holland against the baseless claims of Armenians. We initiated this campaing for Hague as a start. We want to expand it through other cities of Holland.
Co-chairman of the organization, Gunes said, "According to the census reports of Ottoman Empire, the total population of Armenians in whole empire was 1,5 million. Today, Armenians claim that 2,5 million Armenian died in "genocide". Their claims are baseless. They are just trying to deceive the World."
