E-mail Print PDF
The Azerbaijani diaspora in Germany has held a protest outside the Armenian embassy to mark 31 March, Azerbaijani Genocide Day.

German-based organizations Azerbaijan House, the German-Azerbaijani Solidarity Society, the Coordination Centre of Azerbaijanis in Germany  and the Ocaq (Ojag) Cultural Society and Azerbaijan’s embassy in Germany organized the protest.

The pickets waved Azerbaijani flags and banners, played the national anthem of Azerbaijan and chanted slogans for Karabakh. They read out a message about the genocide committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people in March-April 1918 and submitted it to the Armenian embassy.

A commemoration ceremony was held at the German-Azerbaijani Solidarity Society. Addressing the ceremony, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Germany, Parviz Shahbazov,  thanked the diaspora for their support and active participation in the picket. He called on Azerbaijanis to be more active in future events.
