'EU is ready to back the regulation of the trans-border issues after the ratification of the protocols'
EU supports the Turkish-Armenian normalization process and backs the ratification of two protocols without any preconditions, Štefan Füle, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy told a joint conference with the Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan today.
Füle hailed the courage of the Armenian President and the authorities over starting a dialogue with Turkey and said the EU is ready to back the regulation of the trans-border issues after the ratification of the protocols.
The EU Commissioner also said the perspective of the reconciliation between the two countries would be useful for Turkey’s EU integration. According to him, Turkey’s experience over establishing good neighborly relations would be taken into account while discussing the possible EU membership.
