Speaking to German Der Spiegel magazine, Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan said, "Mount Agri is in our hearts".
German Der Spiegel magazine had also published an interview of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan before the visit of German PM Angela Merkel to Turkey. When German journalist used the term "genocide" during the interview, Prime Minister Erdogan had reacted to the journalist and called him to use the term "genocide" carefully.
This week, Der Spiegel held an interview with the Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan. To the question, "Turkey is afraid that Armenia may claim Turkish lands if it recognizes "genocide". Would you like to have Mount Agri?", Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan said, "Nobody can take Mount Agri back from us, we keep it in our hearts. Today, wherever in the World Armenians live, you can see the image of Mt. Agri on some wall in their homes. I am sure that the day will come when Mt. Agri will not any more be the symbol of separation but a symbol of understanding each other. Let me explain this; No Armenian official has ever claimed for the Turkish lands. Maybe Turkish people are accusing us of claiming their land because they feel guilty."
