’Both Armenia and Turkey are subjected to pressure in the issue of ratification of the Turkish-Armenian protocols.’
During the meeting in Washington the Armenian side will be subjected to pressure in the issue of the Karabakh settlement, member of the Armenian National Movement Hovhannes Igityan told a news conference.
According to him, both Armenia and Turkey are subjected to pressure in the issue of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols. However, Ankara uses this pressure to solve their own priorities. In this case, the Turkish side proposes the version that it cannot ratify the protocols to ensure progress in the Karabakh settlement, believes Igityan. For this reason, according to the opposition leader the Armenian president will be subjected to pressure in the issue of Karabakh, with the intent to provide an opportunity for Turkey to ratify the documents.
He did not exclude possible proposal to sign the schedule of ratification of the protocols during the meeting. “The point is that if the pressure on the parties is raised, both Ankara and Yerevan will ratify the documents tomorrow, but the current climate shows a very aggressive and even hostile attitude of the two countries,” he said.
