One of the most active Turkish organizations in United Staes, Young Turks will hold a protest demonstration at Times Square, New York against Armenian genocide allegations on April 24, which Armenians claim that it is anniversary of so called Armenian genocide.
It is reported that Young Turks organization will hold the protest demonstration between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM on April 24 close to Times Square between 42nd street and 7th avenue in New York. Founding chairman of Young Turks organization Tulga Tekman stated that the program will be held with a huge attendance.
Stressing that Turkish community in United States should say "No" to Armenian lies in solidarity and be responsible for the national cause, Tekman said that the historical truth about 1915 incidents should be known by whole world. Stating that they will come together under the shade of Turkish flag on April 24 to protest genocide allegations, Tekman called for attention to that protest demonstration will be held before Obama's speech related to 1915 incidents.
Tekman said, "Following the adoption of so called Armenian genocide resolution by the Committee of U.S. House, Armenian diaspora gained strength and started to exert more pressure on Turkish community. We could gain permission of New York Police Department for holding the rally despite internal and external efforts to prevent this event. Deputy Chairman Cenk Coktosun is holding contacts with the organizations that will support the rally and we are struggling for enabling all Turkish people in and around New York to attend the protest."
Stating that Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Uyghur, Turcoman and Crimean Turks will also support the prostest demonstration, Tekman said that they are preparing banners as "Say No To So Called Armenian Genocide Allegations" and "Open Archives".
