Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan invited speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri to visit Armenia at his convenience, according to the news office of the Armenian Parliament. Nabih Berri visited Armenia in 1997. Hovik Abrahamyan expressed gratitude for the fact that during this visit, the speaker of the Lebanese parliament stressed the importance of the right of Nagorno Karabakh for self-determination.

The head of the National Assembly of Armenia underlined that Nagorno Karabakh cannot be a part of Azerbaijan.

The parties also considered the Armenian-Turkish relations. Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri expressed hope that these relations will soon be settled, and declared readiness to assist the settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations. Hovik Abrahamyan thanked his Lebanese counterpart for adoption of a resolution condemning the genocide of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire and noted that these steps are important to prevent such crimes in the future.

Ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols  is currently delayed by the Turkish Parliament, and the attempt is made to link this process with the Karabakh issue, although there is no connection, according to the release of the news service of the National Assembly. The Lebanese speaker expressed hope that the authorities of Armenia and Turkey will be able to develop relations on the diplomatic level.
