Turkish people in Germany held a protest demonstration in Cologne against German public television channel ARD, which broadcasted a documentary on 1915 incidents accusing Turks of commiting a genocide. Gathering before WDR building, protesters were furious that German public TV is funded by the taxes they pay and it broadcasts Armenian propaganda related to 1915 incidents.

Protesting the broadcast of documentary “Aghet-Ein Völkermord” (Tragedy of Genocide) by German public television ARD, Assembly of Turkish Associations in Germany stated that Armenian diaspora intends to mislead World public opinion.

President of Assembly of Turkish Associations in Germany, Isa Ilyasoglu condemned the one-sided broadcast of German public tv channel and said, "We condemn broadcast of a movie that accuses our nation of committing a genocide by a TV channel that is funded by the taxes of 3,5 million Turkish people in Germany. It is obvious that the movie was prepared with a prejudice since all the documents that were used as source were provided from Armenian sources and some certain non-objective sources."

Ilyasoglu said, "If they have had searched Turkish, Russian, French and English archives they would also broadcast that Armenians massacred about 537 thousand Turkish people. Therefore we would think that the movie was prepared objectively. We are towards discussion of this issue by historians."

Calling German officials to not to broadcast the documentary ever again, llyasoglu said that they also expect German TV channel to broadcast a documentary about massacre of Azerbaijani people by Armenians.
