Armenian language to be taught at Ankara University

Member of Higher Education Council, Professor Durmus Gunay stated that they approved application of Ankara University about initiation of Armenian language classes.

Stating that different state institutions need officers that know Armenian language, Gunay said, "There are a few people that speak Armenian language and so there is need in state institutions for educated people who speak Armenian. We aim to open universities in Turkey to the whole world and therefore we will be needing educated human sources. So that, we are encouraging learning English language. Today, English turned into an international language."

"The university understanding is different than 20 or 30 years before. We are on a globalization process. We need human source with language knowledge," said he.
