An action against the screening of the film Aghet on ARD television was held outside SWR television of Mainz, Germany.
The film dedicated to the so-called Armenian genocide shows the Armenians’ lies as realities. The 90-minute film has also been recently screened at Babylon cinema. Press service of the State Committee for Diaspora told that heads, activists of Turkish and Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations in Germany participated in the protest action. Head of Rheinland-Pfalz Turkish Society Neset Hizir delivered the protest letter to the representative of SWR television Dr. Simone Sanftenberg on behalf of the Turkish Diaspora. On behalf of the Azerbaijani Diaspora president of the European Azerbaijanis Congress Bashar Komur delivered the protest letter to Simone Sanftenberg for sending to ARD and NDR televisions. At the press conference following the protest action Neset Hizir speaking on behalf of the Turkish and Azerbaijani communities in Germany said the peoples of the two countries protested against the screening of Aghet on the famous TV channel of the country.“One can not write history by telling lies to the German people, historians should write the history. Politicians can not solve this problem. How do those who do not see Khojaly genocide, the tragedies and massacres of the Azerbaijanis during the Karabakh war see the lie of 95 years? Those who shot and screen Aghet do not support the peace between nations. We did not commit the genocide. It is the Armenians who several times committed genocides against Azerbaijanis and Turks. The world should not ignore it,” he said.
Black wreath with the words ““AGHET” The BIGGEST LIE” on it was placed in front of the television building.
Similar protest action was also held in Cologne outside the building of WRD television. The protest action was organized by head of Turkish community in Duisburg Dr. Ali Soylemezoglu, head of the United Azerbaijan Society Elkhan Karimov, Yunus Emre Society and Turkish Brotherhood Society.
