E-mail Print PDF
Following the meetings of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with U.S. President Barack Obama and Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan within the frames of Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, a game of chess between Turkey and Armenia begins in South Caucasus.
After Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced that he will make an official visit to Baku, Armenian President Sarksyan decided to go to Moscow. Following the visit of Davutoglu to Azerbaijan today, Sarksyan will tomorrow depart for Russia to meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. It is reported that this visit was not scheduled before and President Sarksyan asked Medvedev for an appointment after Turkey made a step to inform Azerbaijan about the contacts in United States.
Turkey's goal with the visit of Davutoglu to Azerbaijan is to prevent another strain in the relations between two countries following the steps made towards normalization of relations with Armenia. Davutoglu will meet Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and state that Turkey's stance about resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem has not changed.
