Giving a lecture entitled "Armenian issue and lie of genocide", Professor Hikmet Oksuz stated that Armenian genocide allegations are totally baseless.
Stating that Armenian allegations are totally baseless, Oksuz said, "Actually the issue of displacement of Armenians in 1915 was a project for providing life safety for Armenian population by displacement of them from the region of war to another region of Ottoman Empire. In a period when the Ottoman Empire was in a war, Armenians started rebellions and they terrorized people that they were living side by side till that time. If the Turks in Anatolia would have decided to get armed and punish Armenians because of their betrayal, then a real massacre against Armenians would have taken place.
But Ottoman government used a radical method to prevent such a domestic conflict between ethnical members of the country. Ottoman Empire did not massacre Armenians. On the contrary, it displaced Armenians to safer regions."
