"Armenia's policy is a total fiasco"

“Armenia understands perfectly well that its policy is a total fiasco," Chairman of the “Yurddash” (“Compatriot”) political party of Azerbaijan Mais Safarli said.

"Armenia did not expect Turkey to sign the protocols on the normalization of relations with Yerevan in Zurich nor it expected Azerbaijan to accept the updated Madrid principles with some exceptions,” he said.

"With regard to updated Madrid principles, in case Armenia does not accept them, negotiations to achieve a peaceful settlement to the Karabakh conflict can end and we can begin to look for new ways to tackle the problem,” the party chairman added.

“Azerbaijani and Turkish diplomacy had great success in recent times.”

"We left attempts of the Armenian diplomacy in the shadow. Armenia is at a stalemate and does not know what to do. Today, Armenia looks forward only to the U.S. and Russia, but in my opinion, it does so in vain. Azerbaijan conducts smart policy revealing Armenia’s true face. So, I think that Yerevan has no potential any more and with all kinds of dishonest statements it only tries to blackmail Baku and Ankara, which ultimately will do no good to Armenia,” Safarli  noted.
