Kremlin welcomes normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations

Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan is holidng a visit to Moskow over invitation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Russian and Armenian leaders are expected to discuss the process of resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem and regional issues besides bilateral relations.
Issuing an announcement regarding to the visit of Armenian President, Kremlin stated that Moscow welcomes the process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia as good relations between these countries will contribute development of the region.
Ankara, which sets resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem as a precondition for ratification of Zurich protocols that Turkey and Armenia signed towards normalization of relations and opening of borders, follows the developments closely. Evaluating recent developments, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that a new acceleration in the relations with Armenia is achieved.
The agenda of Medvedev and Sarksyan meeting includes economical relations, regional cooperation and process of resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem. The Kremlin stated that Russia will continue to make necessary assistance for achievement of an acceptable reconciliation between Yerevan and Baku.
Stalemate in the resettlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem concerns Baku. As continuation of occupation does not bother Armenia in a great extent, Baku announced several times that military solution to the problem may be brought on the agenda if no progress is achieved in the peace process. Recently, Baku criticized United States of not following an objective policy in the process of resettlement of Karabakh problem as the co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group.
