A group of U.S. Armenians held a protest demonstration near White House over 95th anniversary of so called Armenian genocide.
Shouting slogans and carrying banners against Turkey and Ataturk, protest demonstrators called U.S. President Barack Obama to recognize 1915 incidents as a "genocide".
Condemning Turkey's policy of denial against Armenian allegations, protesters claimed that Turkey still continues its "genocide" policies and uses military force against Kurdish population in Turkey. "Turkey goes on to damage cultural heritage," they claimed.
It is seen that when an Afro-American citizen talking with a megaphone shouted louder than the Armenian group, Executive Director of Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Aram Hamparian paid money to the man to stay silent.
Turks Defend Turkish Embassy in Washington
On the other hand, members of Turkish-American community are waiting on the pavement in front of the Turkish Embassy in Washington to prevent Armenian protesters to use the field during their April 24 protest.
A student who is on guard in front of Turkish Embassy, Mehmet Tavan said that they did the same last year and Armenian protesters had to use the pavement across the Turkish Embassy. "We are here since the morning. We are keeping guard for our land," said he.
