E-mail Print PDF
At least 300 of supporters – mainly American Turks and about 30 American Azerbaijanis gathered in front of the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC, on Saturday April 24 eastern time to counter the Armenian demonstrators and their lies, APA reported.

Azerbaijani students joined the action as well, crying out slogans in support to the Turkish Diaspora. Azerbaijani and Turkish flags were waved all over the action.

The number of Armenians was still more – about 500 people, but, in comparison with Turks and Azerbaijanis who were from all different backgrounds – the Armenian protesters were mainly teenagers and students.

The Turkish Ambassador to the US came out to the crowd and invited inside. He particularly thanked the Azerbaijani community for supporting the Turkish Diaspora and sharing the same understanding of the problem.
