A US Congress Member from the State of Virginia Jim Moran sent a letter to the Azerbaijani Diaspora in US on the Khojaly Massacre issues.
According to the Congressman, “The massacre that took place in the town of Khojaly during the month of February in 1992 is atrocious. The conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh between Armenia and Azerbaijan has gone on for too long and has cost many innocent lives”.
The congress member agrees that the dead should be commemorated and the best way to do so is to achieve a lasting peace between the warring parties.
“I will raise the issue of the Khojaly massacre when I meet next with Armenian officials and will implore them to solve the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh together with their Azerbaijanian counterparts. The United States has both moral and security interests in achieving peace in the Caucasus”, - said Congressman Moran.
