Turkish candidates in Holland urged to recognize so called Armenian genocide

It is reported that Labor Party (PvdA) in Holland, urged its candidates to recognize so called Armenian genocide before general elections that will be hold on June 9.
In a mail that is sent to the canditates of Turkish descent, it is written that PvdA supports bringing the issue of "necessity of bringing the issue of recognition of so called Armenian genocide during the negotiations with Turkey". It is stated that denying the resolution will pose an obstacle to the candidacy.
PvdA's candidates list of 70 people includes Turkish descent candidates Nebahat Albayrak, Metin Celik, Keklik Yucel and Gulhan Akdemir. One of the candidates for nomination, Belir Cebeci reacted to the PvdA's policy agaisnt Turkish candidates underscoring that only 8 candidates among 89 got the e-mail. "This violates the principal of equality in the constitution of Holland," said he.
