"Unconstructive position for Armenia is normal"

E-mail Print PDF
Armenia has repeatedly demonstrated an unconstructive position, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament said.

“Armenia’s suspension of the ratification process of the protocols signed with Turkey proves once again that this country does not keep any promise,” deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova said.

Muradova said that taking into account this fact, it is impossible to predict what step Armenia will make in this matter. She does not exclude that Armenia takes some decisions under dictation of some international forces.

Turkish and Armenian foreign ministers Ahmet Davutoglu and Edward Nalbandian signed the Ankara-Yerevan protocols in Zurich Oct. 10.

Despite some parties consider that the Turkish-Armenian relations and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are different issues, normalization of relations is directly related to the settlement of the conflict, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Ankara after his official visit to Moscow.

The Armenian Constitutional Court considered the commitments reflected in the Turkish-Armenian Protocols ’Establishment of diplomatic relations’ and ’Development of bilateral relations’, which were signed by Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Armenia Edward Nalbandian and Ahmet Davutoglu at the University of Zurich October 10, 2009 corresponding to the basic law.

After approving the protocols, the Armenian Constitutional Court said that there is no need for the formation of a joint commission to investigate the events of 1915. Armenia will never refuse from its claim over the “genocide.”

Last week Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said about the freezing of the ratification of the protocols.
