Chairman of Supreme Mejlis (parliament) of Nakhchivan Autonomy Vasif Talibov meets Turkish Igdir Governor Saffet Karahisarli.
Azerbaijani Consul General in Gars Hasan Zeynalov, Turkish Consul General in Nakhchivan Ahmad Enginal and police chief of Igdir Mustafa Aydin attended the meeting. Igdir Governor spoke about high-level cooperation with Nakhchivan and implementation of joint projects: “We are always together with our brothers from Nakhchivan and this friendship will continue”. While responding to questions of journalists Vasif Talibov said that within the framework of the visit he met with Turkish leaders: “Our meetings were very productive. We discussed issues on Nakhchivan-Igdir-Gars railway, establishment of free industrial zone which can be used jointly by Turkey, Iran and Nakhchivan.
If this project realizes then all three sides will strengthen from an economic standpoint”. Talibov noted that he once more was sure of that, Turkish Government’s policy towards Azerbaijan hadn’t changed: “Turkish Government have announced that it wouldn’t open borders with Armenia till Armenians left the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and had always told it Armenians. Today Armenians like a child who enters children’s toy market. Armenians are like children wishing to buy every toy they see”.
