"If Armenia was an independent state, we would have solved Karabakh problem already"

Commenting on Barack Obama's speech on the day of so-called "Armenian Genocide", Azerbaijani MP Aynur Djamalgizi said the following: "We did in fact expect that. America would not risk its relations with Turkey, no matter how strong armenian diaspora is in the U.S. Strategic interests are not to be changed for Armenia's interests".

Touching upon the Zurich protocols, the MP pointed out that “since the very beginning, it was clear that Armenia will not ratify them. And that’s exactly what happened. Likely, Yerevan once again was pressured upon, and that’s just another proof that Armenia is anything but an independent state.”

“I believe Sargsyan was instructed during his visit to Moscow. If Armenia was an independent state, we would have solved the Karabakh problem already. By freezing the Zurich protocols, Armenia practically took the whole responsibility off Turkey’s back for the armenian-turkish dialogue,” said the MP.
