The leader of Turkey’s Nationalist and Conservative Party (MMP), Ahmet Reyiz Yilmaz, has called for military action against Armenia.
He said military action was needed to stop the terrorist acts of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), according to Turkey's Beyaz Gazete.
Yilmaz issued a statement to draw attention to the number of Turks killed by the PKK since the protocols on Turkish-Armenian rapprochement were signed in October 2009.
'The PKK is an Armenian terrorist organization. Instead of going deeper into the matter, the government signs the PKK cease-fire with the Armenians,' Yilmaz said in his statement.
Armenian news website Panorama.Am commented that attempts to describe the Kurdish military-political organization as Armenian are not new.
The Turkish side is making these blatant and groundless statements in order to stir anti-Armenian and anti-Kurdish sentiment, Panorama said.
