Turkish policy on Turkey-Armenia protocols still uncompromising

Deputy chairman of the Russian Fund of Strategic Culture has spoken about Turkey’s policy on Zurich protocols.

The Armenian-Turkish dialogue will continue not on the public level, and it would be more correct to these "consultations" or "contacts", said deputy chairman of the Russian Fund of Strategic Culture, Andrei Areshev according to the report of 1news.az.

Armenia Today reports that according to Areshev, the resumption of the same political process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations would be possible six months after completion of the electoral process in Turkey (2011-2012)..
Referring to the current time-out in the Armenian-Turkish process, Areshev noted that this decision was agreed with Moscow and Washington.

An equally important reason for the freezing process was a hardline position of Ankara, which has made it impossible to speak about ratification without unilateral concessions of Armenia in the Karabakh problem. "Turkey's policy on this issue at the official level remained uncompromising. This is understandable, considering the availability of certain pressure on the part of Azerbaijan, as well as the political situation in Turkey ", he said, stressing that in the period preceding the election processes “the ruling party in Turkey should not aggravate its relations with the opposition, that are quite strained”.
