Yovanovich: "It is positive that for the first time 24 April was commemorated in Turkey"

U.S. Ambassador to Yerevan Marie Yovanovich stated that they welcome Armenian President's decision to keep Turkish-Armenian process alive and said, "It is positive that for the first time April 24 was commemorated in Turkey."
Giving an interview to RFE/RL, Marie Yovanovich commented on the Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan's decision of suspending Turkish-Armenian protocols and said that the process with Turkey did not end but the time that Turkey will be ready to continue the process will be waited.
Stating that they welcome President Sarksyan's decision towards keeping Turkish-Armenian process alive, U.S. Ambassador said, "Therefore, we understand that parties have an opportunity to work for peace, stability and reconciliation. United States continues to support normalization of relations between two countries and urges them to keep the doors open for the reconciliation."
Asked whether Washington blames Turkey over suspension of protocols, Yovanovich said, "I do not think seeking for the guilty is constructive. I should note that the stance of United States was always clear. We are towards the progress in Turkish-Armenian process in reasonable time and without preconditions."
Yovanovich said, "During this process i saw several Turkish groups, students and travel agencies which setting up business in Armenia. These are all positive developments."
