Azerbaijan's ambassador to Ankara Zakir Hasimov refuted the reports on the interference of Turkish National Intelligence Organization to prevent a war between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Karabakh and said, "They are writing whatever they see in their dreams in the night".
Azerbaijani Yeni Musavat newspaper had claimed yesterday that Turkish National Intelligence Organization prevented a war between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the last minute just before the signing of protocols between Turkey and Armenia. Azerbaijani newspaper had claimed that the real reason of the strain in the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan was the interference of Turkish National Intelligence Organization to prevent Aliyev to initiate a military operation on Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Ankara Zakir Hasimov refuted the report of Yeni Musavat newspaper and stated that they are writing in the morning whatever they see in their dreams. Stressing that allegations in the newspaper do not reflect the truth, Hasimov said that everybody in Azerbaijan makes fun of the report. "Such thing is not possible. This report is nothing but exaggeration. Diplomatic sources also refuted the report," said he.
The report of one of the most efficient newspapers of Azerbaijan, Yeni Musavat read, "National Intelligence Organization (NIO) prevented Aliyev to hold a military operation against Nagorno-Karabakh in the last minute. The interference of NIO took place about one year ago. It is interesting that interference of NIO was just before signing of protocols between Turkey and Armenia in Switzerland. Turkey prevented the military operation of Azerbaijan and therefore did not let a blow to Turkish-Armenian process and it's own image. The real reason of the strain in the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan lies under that. If Azerbaijan had started military operations, Justice and Development Party's "Armenia Opening" would have totally been wrecked.
Sources that are close to NIO state that an official statement related to these allegations will not be made and it is not possible to confirm these allegations. On the other hand, Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Turkey is towards resettlement of the problem by peaceful methods. Yeni Musavat newspaper wrote that Turkey still prevents Azerbaijan to begin military operation and wrote, "The option of military solution is on the agenda again. The high level contacts between Turkey and Nakhichevan might be about this issue."
